Welcome to Rapture Raiding

  • Raid Times - Raids are taken very serious by this Guild and should be treated as such. Raids start at 9 EST Sun-Wed, and Friday. They run until 12 EST. The raid leader will be aware of those times and will make every attempt not to run over that end time. Any Officer will start forming up around 8:40 EST and dropping a flag no later than 9EST. The raid should be formed with 5 minutes to spare. Please be ready by 8:45 on mains and ready for invite.
  • Raid Attendence - Post on Forums if you will not be on. There are over 40 members in the guild and telling an officer is useless unless as a last resort. The Officers and Leaders read forums all day and the raid leader will check before forming the raid.
  • Raid Mains - Raid mains will only be changed by the Officers. Do not confuse a toon you like to play over the importance of the guild. It is tough at times, as alot of us get worn out of toons. The guild's needs are more important than any individuals to include the leaders and officers.
  • Raid Setup - Raid Setup is decided by the Raid Leader and Officers. The raid will be put together with the best possible force to win. If you are asked to sit, you may be called in to replace someone so be prepared. It is a luxury to be in a guild that is able to sit people due to extra raiders. It is not a luxury to have to pick the raid and ask some people to sit. This is non-negotiable and if you have an issue with sitting and it is making your playtime uncomfortable, then you might want to find another guild. Please do not bother any officers with complaints of this matter during raid time. Hold off until the end or prior to the next days raid.
  • Raid Strats - Raid Strats are to be posted on our forums so they can be seen and read and discussed throughout the day/week. New Strats will not be sent to the raid leader or Officers during raid times. It is extremely distracting and not beneficial to the raid force. If you have links or ideas post them prior to the forums so we everyone can see them. The Leaders and offiicers will have strats and have discussed them for New Mobs prior to pulling on them. They will come prepared so as not to waste the time of the raid force. Keep in mind that 95% of the time a strat fails is due to gear or poor execution.
  • Raid Zones - Raid Zones will be decided based off of the personnel that are available. This guild will not preset MOBs and make a raid pull over and over again with no hope for victory. It is a waste of time! The Officers will let you know what you have to reset when the zone is decided. Please do not ask any officer or leader where you will be raiding, they will tell you as soon as they know and they will not leave you behind in the guild hall.
  • Raid Tempo - It is the responsibility of the raid leader and the officers to maximize the time that the guild members are giving you to raid. With only 3 hours a night we need to ensure the raid is moving rapidly. The best alternative to stopping a raid for strats is to move anyone down in Ventrillo, prior to getting to any named, and having an officer explain the strat as the raid moves along.
  • Raid Equipment - It is the responsibility of the raider to have all equipment adorned. If you are raiding with it - it is a piece of raid equipment. ADORN IT. If you can not adorn something due to cost talk to any officer and they will assist you in getting your equipment adorned. This will improve yourself no matter how small it may be.
  • Raid Items- Ensure that you have a supply of of temporary adornments and potions. Additionally see the post on being ready to raid.
  • Cure Potions - USE THEM!!!!!!! Use them in instances and raids. Use one every time you have one up and there is a dot on you. They are free in the guild bank and if there isnt any there then let an officer know and they will get more. This has become extremely critical in this expansion. It is very obvious the ones that do not use cure pots on a regular basis. They are slow in reaction time and usually die because of it. If you get better at this then the healers will be better. If the healers get better then the tanks and everyone wears more dps gear. Its a trickle effect.
  • Debuffing - This shouldn't have to be mentioned but it will. If you have one make sure you are using it. You should not be relying on someone else to debuff mobs for you. If everyone is using debuffs the raid wide parse goes up. If the raid wide parse goes up yours goes up.
  • Raid Wipes - Will only be called by the Raid Leader. Give 100% until a wipe is called and if one is called wipe quickly and rebuff quickly. Time is of utmost importance!
  • Rezzing - Primary means of rezzing will be done by dirges and necros. If a healer rezzes then so be it, but they shouldn't be sacrificing healing for rezzes. Sacrifice DPS for Rezzing!
  • Ventrillo - All raid members are required to be in Ventrillo during raids. The VENT Information is posted in the MOTD of the Guild. Ventrillo is to be kept clear of any unneccesary chit-chat during pulls. Everyone likes to joke around, which is fine but there is time and place for it. Know when to shut up!
  • Guild Connect - All raiders will download, install, and run Guild Connect on every raid. See Main Link above and on main page sidebar above for full instructions.
  • Grouping - If you are in an all guild group and a nice item drops that will improve the guild, rather than an alt make every attempt to get someone in for a piece rather than give it to an alt.
  • Masters - Masters are sold by the guild broker also posted in the MOTD. Check him often, if your main needs one let an officer know. They will take it off the broker and give it to you for free. If an alt needs one then let the broker know and he will sell it to at a significantly lower price than the lowest one on the broker.
  • Guild Climate - We pride ourselves on keeping a good guild climate. If you are disruptive to the climate then you will simply be asked to leave. This will be a drama free guild. Not just advertised as one, but strictly enforced. If you dont fit you will be removed. Be considerate of your Guild Mates! Ask when you need Help! Offer assistance when someone else needs help! Don't point fingers that will be the raid leader and officers job!

Rapture Loot

Rapture's Loot System is unique and has been enjoyed by everyone that has come through Rapture. The bottom line is there never has been a shortage of Loot in this guild and the system is extremely fair to those that raid and excel in their classes. There has been very few bitches, gripes, or complaints about our officer led voting system. This may seem like a complex system due to Officer voting but 90% of the time it is rather easy decision. Member Mains and Recruit Mains will always trump ALTS.

When a piece of loot drops in raid it will be designated by the Officer/leader that opens the box as to who to send tells to on each piece of loot in the box. Lore Items will be looted immediately and divied up when time permits.

Once an Officer has been designated, any Main that would like that piece will send a tell with a link to the item it will be replacing. That officer will then link the items in O-chat with the names for a vote amongst the officers. The Officers will first identify whether it is a Member versus a Recruit. Once that is identified, the Officers will then vote using the following guidelines:

  1. Upgrade - Who can use it more?
  2. Raid Position - MT group vs. OT group scenerio
  3. Seniority - How long has the person been a member?
  4. Commitment - Is the person on every night?
  5. Capabilities - Who will get the most use out of the item?
  6. Who is due - When is the last time they got an item?
  7. **As a perk to show appreciation for our Long Term Members, ONLY they will be allowed to roll for Raid Dropped mounts and will enjoy a slighlty larger percentage of guild splits.

That is most of the criteria that officers use to vote on loot. Once majority vote has been reached the loot will be given up. There is no reason to wait for a unanimous vote.

If for some reason there seems to be a discrepancy in the decision making, Officers will explain what criteria they think is being over looked and all officers will vote gain and come to a majority vote. If for some reason majority can not be met then the Leader(s) will make the final call. If for some reason a Leader is not on, the Leader Vote will be represented by the current Raid Leader.

That is your standard loot system and as identified there has been little or no conflict with loot since this systems existence. Only in specific situations is a RECRUIT authorized to receive LOOT over a member. This must be agreed on by all Officers and leaders and the decision will be made for the betterment of the guild!

Alt Loot

ALT Loot must always be treated as nothing more than it actually is and that is ALT LOOT.

If you are getting upset that you are losing loot on your alt then you might want to check the guild you are in and ask yourself if you are really committed to being here. ALT Loot will not hold up raids and will be left to rot if the raid will be held up.

With that being said, the officers and leaders think ALT Loot is very important to the game. For both the individual players interest and motivation levels and for Rapture Raiding in the end. This allows gearing of an ALT to be a main much easier.

ALT loot will be /random 1000, when told to do so. Winners of ALT loot will follow up with a 30 PLAT donation to Guild Bank 1 at their next opportunity. The following criteria will be followed:

  • ALT must be 90 (or MAX LEVEL)
  • ALT must be in guild
  • Recruits can NOT roll for ALT loot

ONLY THE GUILD LEADER(S) OR RAID LEADER CAN MAKE EXCEPTIONS TO THE ABOVE CRITERIA AND THAT WILL BE FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE GUILD AND NOT PERSONAL GAIN.

So the bottom line for loot is the following:

  1. Member Mains
  2. Recruits
  3. Member Alts
  4. Sell it
  5. Mute it
  6. Let it rot

If you have any issues with loot please bring it to the attention of a Guild Leader first. Most of the time an issue is a misunderstanding and can be explained on the spot or at a good time for both parties.

Apply to Rapture

Thank you for considering Rapture as your new home. Below is some information that will help you decide if Rapture may be for you. Please pay special attention to our loot system. It is different from many other raiding guilds as we do NOT use a point system. However, since it has worked quite well for us, we have no desire to change it.

In addition to our loot system, please read and understand our requirements for raiding and what we expect from all our recruits and full timers alike. We like to have fun, but just as important, we like to raid. Solid raiding makes for solid fun. If any of the things below turn you off, then we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

If interested, please check the main page for our class needs. We will always consider good players over a class that we don't need, just understand you may have to sit for some raids. If you are online but not raiding, you still qualify for loot.

January, 2011

Whew! What a last half of 2010. Rapture has been raiding non-stop. We've made fantastic progress in Underfoot Depths. We got HM Construct down, opened up the third wing, and are already up to Saalax. In the process we've gotten plenty of the T4 shards for our members and are still farming them. Like other guilds, these last few months up until the next expansion can be a bit of a grind. We're all looking forward to Velious. We've had an influx of some great new talent and since we still haven't cleared all of Sentinel's Fate, we have plenty of work to do these next couple of months.

The server transfer from Blackburrow to Everfrost, in my opinion, went very well. Not only do I think SOE did a pretty good job from a technical standpoint, I think the influx of new bodies to Everfrost was welcome. They didn't have but one or two top tier raiding guilds and now they've got several to choose from. This will open up some solid recruiting opportunites for all guilds. All in all, I think the future looks pretty damn good for Rapture and Everfrost in general.

This new year Rapture is making a serious push to step up our talent pool even more. We are looking for top tier raiders. We are currently ranked in the top 20 Worldwide and we want to go higher. Like any top tier guild, we are looking for great players that want to excel at their class and be part of a rock solid guild. We need full-time raiders. If you're in a situation where you've got the time to raid and you're ready to show us what you've got, then click the Apply link at the top of this page and submit an app. All apps are submitted directly to the Officer forum where we discuss them daily.

Rapture is always looking for the best EQ2 players. Understand that with the move to Everfrost, we've gotten quite a few new Apps. Obviously, this affords us the luxury of picking and choosing the very best. Just like all previous expansions, some new apps seem to think they can app to a raiding guild and get in on the ground level for the new expansion without paying their dues. Trust me, if you're worth the effort, you'll play. If you are subpar or cause drama, well, we wish you the very best in whatever guild you end up with. We're looking for contenders - not pretenders. Which are you?

As always, we here in Rapture wish you and yours the very best in 2011. We hope it's a propserous year for you in all ways possible.

Regards,

The Management
